Quiet Linux Reader
Read and export files from Linux EXT4 drives directly on Windows, with a read-only design focused on data safety.
Quiet Linux Reader is a Windows utility designed for reading Linux EXT4 drives without mounting or modifying the source disk.
It is especially useful when accessing Linux disks removed from NAS systems, servers, workstations, and other Linux-based devices.
The software can detect physical disks and Linux partitions, browse EXT4 directories, preview supported files, and export files or folders to a Windows drive.
Key Features
• Read Linux EXT4 file systems from Windows
• Browse folders and files without mounting the Linux partition
• Export individual files or complete directories
• Support for USB-connected external drives
• Physical disk and partition detection
• EXT4 superblock and file-system analysis
• File preview for supported content
• Recursive folder export
• Deep scanning for difficult-to-detect EXT4 file systems
• Read-only design — no writing to the source disk
Typical Uses
• Access files from Linux hard drives on a Windows PC
• Recover and export data from NAS drives
• Browse EXT4 disks connected through USB adapters or enclosures
• Copy files from Linux disks without installing Linux
• Examine Linux partitions that Windows cannot normally open
Data Safety
Quiet Linux Reader is designed around read-only access. It does not mount the source EXT4 partition as a writable Windows volume and does not intentionally modify files on the source disk.
For disks with physical damage or serious file-system corruption, creating a disk image before further recovery work is recommended.
System Requirements
• Windows 10 or Windows 11
• 64-bit operating system
• Administrator privileges may be required for direct physical disk access
Portable Version
Quiet Linux Reader is provided as a portable application.
No installation is required. Extract the downloaded package and run the application directly.
